let’s talk alignment

I believe in therapeutic work that feels deeply aligned to both the therapist and the client. Connections that transcend beyond identity labels and schedule matching.

This notion is often not emphasized in the clinical world of therapy nearly enough, unconsciously promoting the idea that any therapist will be able to provide healing/treatment to any client.

If you feel called to work with me, please note I hold the following core beliefs regarding healing & treatment that will inherently impact the way we work together. I tend to align best with folks who also hold similar values.

  • safety

I believe the desire to feel safe is often at the core of our behaviors, reactions, symptoms, and defense mechanisms.

  • the unseen realm

I believe therapy is more than just a clinical process; there is a component that is deeply energetic, spiritual, ancestral, interconnected, and often transcends the here and now.

  • healing

The capacity and innate wisdom needed for one to heal, already exists within you. I am simply here to hold a type of space that helps you remember the healer within you that has always been there.

  • limiting beliefs

You are not your symptoms, traumas, diagnoses, or stories. Over-identification with these parts often creates stagnation in our ability to grow/change/evolve.

  • identity label paradox

Identity labels can help us find our people and create deeply connected communities of safety. They can also cause us to remain stuck in generalized cultural constructs, distracted from what we uniquely need to heal.

  • pain vs. suffering

I align with the Buddhist teaching that pain is an inevitable part of existing, while our responses to pain are often what create our sense of suffering.
